雨果梅耶80mm:F9广角镜头

     本人喜欢雨果梅耶镜头，迄今买过2个垃圾成色的雨果梅耶，初步体会是镜头吃光很严重，但是成像很有味道，有一种说不出的感觉。今天又在网上买了这个雨果梅耶80mm:F9广角镜头，英文全称：Hugo Meyer Wide Angle Aristostigmat 80mm (3 1/8 Inch) f9 Lens Epsilon Shutter。大家知道雨果镜头都是比较昂贵的，雨果广角更是稀少，之前买的都是150毫米的镜头，感觉焦距太长了，一直希望买个短焦的雨果梅耶，这次算是如愿，这个用在中画幅上属于广角是确定无疑的,用在全画幅135和微单上也是不错了，兼具人文风景，因为还没有拿到手，不知道微距如何。这个镜头的介绍如下，原文英文，用翻译软件翻译过来，再附上英文，待镜头到手后再上片交流。

     这是一个Hugo-Meyer广角亚里士多德镜头（通常在德语中标记为“Weitwinkel亚里士多德柱头”）。这是一个4元素设计，雨果梅耶涵盖100度，或大约相同的75毫米F8超级安古龙。你将需要停止到F22或32，以实现覆盖，但它是存在的，并持有良好的设计。

     这个镜头和超级安古龙相机的区别在于尺寸：它很紧凑，而且很容易安入便携式大尺寸套件。超级安古伦的覆盖范围可能在16层达到顶峰，但它的清晰度也会达到顶峰。4元素双高斯宽度的简单性消除了F32处的衍射问题。在大幅面下，同时获得景深和高分辨率总是很困难的。由于这种透镜的广角特性，以及它的衍射阻力，它在您的工具箱中为广角透镜做出了一个坚定的选择。

    不幸的是，epsilon快门的刻度为f4.5，但经过f8的较小f光圈是正确的。这个镜头可以很容易地重新安装在电脑0或Copal 0与F8比例，但专业人士将需要删除前元素，这是顽固的深在快门。快门在使用一秒钟时也会有一点卡住，但仍然会关闭。

This is a Hugo Meyer Wide-Angle Aristostigmat (Usually labeled in German as "Weitwinkel Aristostigmat").  It's a 4 element design which Hugo Meyer states covers 100 degrees in their literature, or about the same as the 75mm f8 Super-Angulon.  You will need to stop down to F22 or 32 to achieve that coverage, but it is there, and holds up well when compared to later Wasp-Shaped designs.  

The difference between this lens and a Super-Angulon is size: this is compact, and slides into a portable large format kit easily.  The Super-Angulon's coverage may peak at F16, but so does its sharpness.  The simplicity of 4 element double-gauss wides eliminates the problem of diffraction at F32.  With large format, attaining both depth of field and high-resolution is always difficult.  Due to the wide-angle nature of this lens, and its diffraction-resistance, it makes a firm choice for a wide angle lens in your kit.   

This is an uncoated lens, and so you will need to add about 1/3 of a stop for exposure.  It is in an Epsilon 0 Shutter, which has the exact same threading size as a Compur, or Compur 1.  The flange to film distance is around 80mm, which is excellent and will provide plenty of bellows draw.  

As for this lens' uncoated nature, there has been a huge resurgence in the use of uncoated lenses in recent years.  This is especially true in digital Cinema, but it holds true in film photography as well.

Uncoated lenses give more "flat" profiles which allow for better handling in a digital workflow later on.  Recovery of shadow detail and highlights is much easier when working with a flatter negative in a digital environment.  If you're using Kodak film like TMAX, EKTAR, or PORTRA, and plan on scanning in post, it will provide a smooth and extremely workable negative.  

The Epsilon shutter unfortunately has a scale for f4.5, but the smaller F-Stops past F8 are correct.  This lens could easily be re-mounted in a Compur 0 or Copal 0 with an F8 scale, but a professional will need to remove the front element, which is stubbornly deep in the shutter.  The Shutter also sticks a little when used at one second, but still closes.

The glass is clean and clear, free from fungus, haze, and scratches.

The Epsilon is an X-Sync Shutter, but adapters for modern electronic flashes are scarce.
